The Annual Caribbean Conference on Comprehensive
Disaster Management provides the platform for
dialogue on initiatives and issues to advance the
CDM agenda in the region.
Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) is a
strategy that has been embraced since 2001 as a
roadmap for achieving sustainable development in the
Caribbean. CDM addresses the management of hazards
through all phases of the disaster management cycle
–prevention and preparedness, mitigation, response
and recovery. It involves the public and private
sectors as well as all segments of civil society and
the general population.
The Enhanced CDM Strategy and Framework 2007-2012 is
intended to accelerate initiatives in promoting
disaster loss reduction in the region.
